Ultimate™ Approvals

Approvals is an Ultimate™ module that provides a structured electronic methodology for approving label designs, database records and worksheets. It can eliminate the problems that occur in manual systems such as lengthy time delays for approval and the printing of unapproved labels, database records and worksheets. By linking the approvals process into the Ultimate™ Security System, the overall system becomes more secure and less prone to errors.

This module is also able to keep versioned copies of the labels in the archives directory.

The Ultimate™ Approvals process comprises the following stages:

• Unapproved: At this point, it is impossible for the labels, database records or worksheets to be printed. During this stage, arbitrary changes may be made. The designer creates the label design, database record or worksheet, the data moves to the next phase when the creator is happy to submit it for approval
• Pre-approval: The label design, database record or worksheet is manually checked, and (assuming no errors) it is marked as approved. While in this phase, it is printable for proofing purposes, but only by someone qualified to do so. A watermark will be printed on top of the pre-approved label. It may not be edited at this stage -- if changes are required, it must be returned to the unapproved stage
  
  
• Approved: The label design, database record or worksheet has now been released, and may be printed as desired by print operators. It is possible to revoke approval, which would return it to the initial stage. An approved label design, database record or worksheet cannot be edited
