Alworths Takes On Tech For Launch
Alworths, a new chain of general merchandise stores, has taken on signage technology and professional services to capitalise on Christmas trading. The eagerly anticipated retailing venture, headed up by Andy Latham, former Woolworths’ head of store
concessions and development, will be opening five stores initially with ambitious growth plans thereafter The new retailer is using Immediate lmpact from Episys, to ensure it has professional-looking signage and ensure it presents customers with consistently branded signage across its stores. lmmediate lmpact is a hosted signage solution, which only requires a computer with a web browser and a printer.
Andy Hayzelden, Alworths operations manager said: "At Woolworths, l was responsible for many of the performance improving retail systems that were deployed into stores, so l knew the team from Episys very well. As we are working to tight deadlines for our store openings, we need a partner that we can trust lOO%, and Episys absolutely fits the bill."
Providing an end-to-end 'productivity excellence managed service," SWL Group built Alworths store labour budgets and store profiles in advance of the opening of its first store in Didcot in November helping guide the business on the required store workloads and shifts to provide optimised coverage through both base and peak week trading scenarios.
Hayzelden added: "We needed a partner who could impartially review our productivity strategy and requirements and then select an appropriate solution mix to achieve our in-store service and budget goals." SWL will be providing a range of services, including productivity strategising and road-mapping, in-store productivity reviews and labour standards generation and labour modelling, through to budgeting and staff profling.
